Every figure on PlainHireCheck traces back to a named public source, computed by documented pipelines. The publisher is accountable for the data framing, methodology, and corrections you read here.

Every figure published on PlainHireCheck is compiled from public-source material and computed by deterministic pipelines, not hand-entered into page copy. The 1,020 license-requirement records cover 51 jurisdictions and are a 2026 compilation snapshot, not a claim that each record is continuously or individually re-verified. Our methodology sets out how the dataset is sourced, computed, and limited, and the about page explains how we handle corrections when a reader flags something. The accountable contact below is responsible for that data framing, methodology, and corrections, rather than an anonymous "team."

Contractor Licensing Editorial Process · Editorial Process
PlainHireCheck is a contractor-licensing and screening-data portal that aggregates state licensing-board records, bond and insurance minimums, exam mandates, and trade-by-trade requirements across 51 jurisdictions. The portal's content is compiled by our editorial process for accuracy, and the team does not accept payment from any entities it covers to ensure impartiality. Through this approach, PlainHireCheck delivers objective hiring-readiness data to help homeowners and procurement teams verify contractors against authoritative state board records before hiring.
